So I apologize for disappearing for so long…After I first published The Amazing Captain Casual I didn’t want to post anything until I had something definitive to share for my next book. Not only did that take longer than I thought, but I also ended up starting graduate school to obtain my masters in Library and Information Science, and that basically made any free time I had completely and utterly disappear. Add in the fact that I’m not the best at keeping up my social media presence anyway and voila! The perfect recipe for approximately three years of radio silence. It’s my goal to do better this year, though, so with luck I will actually succeed in that endeavor!
I’ll start out by telling you all about the project I have been working on since Captain Casual, and that is a solarpunk fantasy trilogy with the first book being titled, Mark of the Mad God. For those who don’t know, solarpunk is a genre/aesthetic based off of steampunk where the idea is to combine nature and technology and then give it an art nouveau spin. In Mark of the Mad God, our heroine, Katya, finds herself in a bit of trouble when she accidentally sets loose Etun—the god of secrets and promises—who had previously been imprisoned in a spirit jug for hundreds of years.
There will be plenty of shenanigans, snark, magic, cool technology, and tons of plants, so I’m definitely looking forward to getting to write more of it! Sadly with grad school I’m not sure when the first book will be done, but I’ll do my best to keep you posted!
Awesome! Can’t wait!
